Judge Bernard Lewis of Chelsea, VT; slacker, loser

The state of Illinois presented Gary Bruce Friedman with a law license in 1963 after he graduated from the University of Vermont School of Law

The Vermont Judicial Conduct Board has found Bernie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act impartially
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to take any action regarding guardian’s failure to comply with orders of the court
• Did nothing to assure that the guardian complied with the law
• Failure to properly oversee guardian’s conduct over seven years led to payments being made by the guardian that were clearly of little or no benefit to the ward
• Did nothing when it came to his attention that the guardian (attorney) paid himself fees without first complying with Vermont law requiring him to receive prior approval of said fees from Bernie

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Bernie by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Vermont Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. March 2019), Bernie continues to sit as an Orange County Probate judge in Chelsea, Vermont. To supplement his $51,000 salary for his part-time judgeship, Bernie practices law with Lewis & Baldwin PLLC at 28 North Main Street in Randolph, Vermont.
