Magisterial Judge Paul Fisher of England; ethical gremlin

The Judicial Conduct Investigations Office found Paulie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Used social media to criticize defendant in high-profile case
  • Conduct risked damaging confidence in his impartiality and bringing the judiciary into disrepute
  • Failed to identify himself as a judicial officer-holder in his media posting

As a direct consequence of his misconduct Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett, acting as a cheerleader for Judicial Misfits punished Paulie by gifting him with a complimentary letter of “formal advice.” Whew, I bet that is really painful, right?

As we speak (ca. March 2016) Paulie practices continues to sit as a judge on the Basildon Magistrate’s court in Basildon, Essex, England.
