The Commission on Judicial Conduct found Sharon guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Instructed court clerk to close office at 5:00 pm even though attorneys for a condemned inmate were rushing to file papers requesting a stay of his execution
  • Failed to properly perform her judicial duties
  • Failed to maintain access to the courts
  • Actions constituted a "willful or persistent conduct that casts public discredit on the judiciary or the administration of justice"

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Sharon by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
