Judge James Metts Sr. of New Caney, TX; ethical gnome

The Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to comply with the law
  • Improperly lent prestige of judicial office in pursuit of personal agenda
  • Improperly solicited funds for educational and/or religious organization
  • On Facebook posts, improperly provided list of school supplies to be donated to Montgomery County elementary schools
  • On several Facebook posts, improperly promoted the Judge James Metts and Constable Rowdy Hayden’s annual School Supply Drive
  • On his Facebook posts, invited cash donations in lieu of school supplies

As a direct consequence of his conduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. December 2018), Jimmy continues to sit as a Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, Place 1, New Caney, Montgomery County, Texas.
