Attorney Peter Clifford of Oakham, MA; ethical troll

The state of Massachusetts presented Peter B. Clifford with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Boston University Law School.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Pete guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to perform three-way reconciliation of trust account at least every sixty days
  • Failed to keep an account ledger with a client identifier after every transaction and a list of every transaction and running balance
  • Failed to keep individual client ledgers with a list of every transaction and running balance
  • Failed to keep a ledger or other records of his personal funds for bank fees and expenses
  • Failed to deliver to the client an itemized bill or other account showing the services rendered on or before paying himself claimed fees

As one would suspect, this isn’t Pete’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonition for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2019) Pete practices at 439 Lincoln Road in Oakham, Massachusetts.
