Attorney David Porter of Paintsville, KY; slacker, loser

The state of Kentucky presented David Joe Porter with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. Cooley is ranked as one of the worst or worst law schools in the country. The mere fact that Donald Trump’s former attorney Michael Cowen is a graduate of Cooley is sufficient evidence of its deserved ranking.

The Kentucky Bar Association found Davey guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to promptly inform the client of any decision or circumstance with respect to which the client's informed consent
• Failed to reasonably consult with the client about the means by which the client's objectives are to be accomplished
• Failed to keep the client reasonably informed about the status of the matter
• Failed to promptly comply with reasonable requests for information
• Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of legal matter
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Failed to properly supervise office staff
• Failed to take steps to assure that all attorneys in firm were acting in compliance with Rules of Professional Conduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kentucky Supreme Court the punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 180-day suspension of his law license and a public reprimand.
