Attorney Richard Hoss of Shelton, WA; ethical troll

The state of Washington presented Richard T. Hoss with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Williamette University School of Law.

The Washington State Bar found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Improperly direct family member to assist client in signing a will
  • Directed his daughter to take client’s hand and make an “X” on her will even though it was disputed by witnesses that the client was comatose at the time
  • Dick direct the doctor and nurse to sign witness statements re: the will without explaining the legal effect of said statements
  • The elderly client died within four hours of her signature being place on the new will
  • Although the new will was admitted to probate, the husband of the deceased client refused to honor the bequests made to Dick’s daughters in said will

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As one would suspect, Dick fails to disclose his misconduct as aforementioned on his self-serving website at www.hossandwilson-hoss.com. Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information so as to not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. March 2019), Dick practices with Hoss & Wilson at 236 West Birch Street in Shelton, Washington.
