Judge Mark Juhas of Los Angeles; moronic loser

The state of California presented Melinda Lasater with a law license in 1973 after she graduated from Puget Sound University School of Law.

Former Gov. Gray Davis was duped into appointing Mark as a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge in 2002. Mark didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Los Angeles area. He received it because she had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

In one matter, Mark was assigned to preside over a marital dissolution case involving attorney Kristin Hiibner who worked with the patent law firm of Karish & Bjorgum PC in Pasadena.

In awarding spousal support, Mark the Moron determined that Kristin who earns about $5,000 a month before taxes needed roughly $16 ,000 a month, after taxes, to maintain her standard of living. He then ordered her husband, intellectual property attorney Bruce Chapman of Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP, to pay her $10,000 a month in alimony.

Subsequently, Mr. Chapman appealed Mark’s ruling, which led to a reversal by the Court of Appeals. In its reversal order the court stated in part:

• “The court’s statement of decision concluded that, considering Hiibner’s monthly (gross) income of approximately $5,000, $10,000 in (taxable) spousal support would be enough for her to meet the marital standard.”
• “But $5,000 + $10,000 = $15,000 before taxes is substantially less than $16,000 after taxes.”
• “Taking taxes into account, the evidence was that Hiibner required approximately $21,000 in gross monthly spousal support to net $16,000.”
• “Thus, substantial evidence does not support the court’s finding that $15,000 per month after taxes ‘will meet the marital standard.’”

The court went on to state:

• “The evidence showed that after-tax disposable income generated by $15,000 is approximately $10,050, which is well below what the court found Hiibner needed to maintain the marital standard.”
• “Judge Juhas ’mixed gross apples and net oranges.’”

Of course Mark the Moron (M&M) doesn’t much give a damn about being spanked on reversal by the Court of Appeal because no judge in California has ever been tossed from the bench by the Judicial Commission for failing to understand “basic arithmetic” and/or for being a Moron.

As we speak (ca. November 2018), Mark continues to sit as a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge in Los Angeles, California.
