U.S. Judge Otis Wright II of Los Angeles; moronic loser

The state of California presented Otis D. Wright II with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Southern University School of Law.

Former President George W. Bush was duped into appointing Otis as a District Court Judge for the Central District of California in 2007. Otis didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Los Angeles area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

In one matter, Otis presided over a case involving Darren Eugene Ellis who was convicted of distributing five grams or more of methamphetamine. The statutory prison sentence that Otis was required to dispense for such an offense is at least five years. However, in his ignorant wisdom and ignorance, Otis illegally sentenced Mr. Ellis to a one year and a day in prison.

Otis’ unlawful sentence led to the U.S. Attorney appealing his ruling to the 9^th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The Court of Appeals reversed Otis the Moron’s order and in doing so said in part:

• “Whether or not we would agree, Congress does not. It requires a mandatory minimum sentence far, far higher than the sentence Judge Wright found reasonable and appropriate.”
• “So we have no choice but to vacate Ellis’s sentence and remand for resentencing consistent with the applicable five-year minimum sentence.”

Of course Otis the Moron doesn’t much give a damn about being spanked on reversal by the Court of Appeal because no judge in California has ever been tossed from the bench by the Judicial Commission for being a Moron.

As we speak (ca. October 2018), Otis continues to sit as a District Court Judge of the Central District of California in Los Angeles, California.
