Attorney Winfield Corcoran of Hamilton, CAN; potty mouth loser

The Law Society of Upper Canada presented Winfield E. Corcoran with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of Toronto School of Law.

The Upper Canada Disciplinary Commission found Winfield guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Winfield appeared on behalf of a client before Justice Donna Hackett involving a matter wherein his client was to be arraigned. While Justice Hackett was busy dealing with an “agitated mentally ill prisoner who had just tried to jump out of the (prisoner’s) box,” whose case was being dealt with as a priority so he could be taken back to jail. After waiting 45 minutes for his client’s case to be addressed, Winfield interrupted the proceedings without announcing who he was and then asked to be excused for the balance of the morning. He went on to tell Justice Hackett that he felt cases with lawyers representing clients should proceeding before those of unrepresented accused persons.

After the judge disagreed with him and suggested he owed the court an apology for his discourteous and disruptive behavior, Winfield responded by saying:

“Go fuck yourself”

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Winfield by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and a $500 fine.
