Attorney James E. Leeny of Chicago; pervert, convict
In July 2009, Jimmy was engaged in a sexual act with another individual while in public at Somme Woods Forest Preserve in Northbrook, Illinois.
Officer William Ortland of the Cook County Forest Preserve Police, witnessed Jimmy and ordered him and the other person cease their sexual act and to come to his police vehicle.
Rather than comply with Officer Ortland’s request, Jimmy went to his vehicle, entered it that attempted to flee the scene. Ort land then ordered Jimmy to stop his vehicle. Jimmy failed to do so and struck Ortland, causing him to fall onto and roll from the hood of Jimmy’s vehicle, resulting in an injury to his knee.
Subsequently, Officer Orland drew his service revolver and ordered Jimmy to stop and exit his vehicle. Jimmy then stopped, was taken into custody and was charged with public indecency and two felony counts of aggravated battery.
Because attorneys committing felonious assaults are held to a lower standard of conduct then we are, the prosecutor reduced one felony assault count to a charge of misdemeanor batter and dismissed the other one.
The Dishonorable Larry Axelrood sentenced Jimmy to twenty-four months probation, fined him $560 and ordered him to perform 100 hours of community service.
Now folks, what do you think would have happened to you if you had assaulted a police officer with your car? You’d likely be spending some valuable time at the Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill, right?
As a consequence of his criminal conduct, the enablers sitting on the Attorney Discipline Board punished Jimmy by gifting him with a censure.
As we speak (ca. Jan 2012) Jimmy the Loser practices law at 43 W. Jackson in Chicago.
