Barrister Richard Zhao of New Zealand; greedy loser  

The Law Society of New Zealand presented Richard Zhao with a law license in 2009 after he graduated from the University of Auckland Law School. 

The New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to pay client money into designated trust account
• Failed to ensure client money earned interest
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Engaged in unsatisfactory conduct
• Personally earned interest from client funds
• Failed to return client files to client upon termination

As one would suspect, this isn’t Dick’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously was disciplined on three (3) separate occasions for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 90-days suspension of his law license and he was ordered to pay  $47,903 standards committee costs and $15,508 Tribunal costs.
