Attorney Luther Abel of Gadsden, AL; slacker, loser

The state of Georgia provided Luther Dickie Abel with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from the Birmingham School of Law.

The Georgia State Bar found Luther guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to advise client of ex-wife’s filings in divorce matter
  • Failed to prosecute client’s divorce case for over one year
  • As result of gross negligence, client’s divorce case was dismissed for want of prosecution
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Luther by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2018), Luther practices at 408 South 4th Street in Gadsden, Alabama.
