Attorney Maria Morell of Puerto Rico; convicted fraudster

The state of Pennsylvania provided Maria Del Sol Morell with a law license in 1991.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Maria guilty of the following misconduct.

• On at least 15 occasions signed HUD-1 forms falsely stating the buyers provided down payments even though she knew the sellers had provided the down payments
• Pled guilty to making false statements to a financial institution
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Maria by gifting her with a complimentary 30-month suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2018) Maria practices at 625 Avenida Juan Ponce de Leon in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
