Attorney Shale Wagman of Ontario, CAN; ethical gremlin, serial offender

 

The Law Society of Upper Canada presented Shale Steven Wagman with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of Ottawa Law School.

 

The Hearing Committee for the Law Society found Shale guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Shale’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misconduct Apple Tree

  • Communicated with both a roster mediator and a third party in a manner that was abusive, offensive and inconsistent with the proper tone of professional communication from a lawyer
  • Failed to promptly fulfill financial obligations for a total of $952.89 owed to 2 clients
  • Failed to fulfill a financial obligation of $1,550.00 owed to a medical doctor for 2 clients
  • Engaged in professional misconduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Shale by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his law license.

 

Shale’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misconduct Apple Tree

  • Misled [lied] client by advising that her tort action had been settled
  • Failed to advise client that he received $12,000.00 in costs
  • Altered a release after it was signed by a client and then delivering this to a third-party insurer
  • Engaged in professional misconduct
  • Failed to deliver an account to a client before taking fees related to the client's tort and benefit claims
  • Mishandled $3,480.00 held in trust on behalf of a client by giving this money to a paralegal without being instructed to do so
  • Failed to maintain proper books and records

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Shale by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his law license.

 

Shale’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misconduct Apple Tree

  • Engaged in professional misconduct
  • Improper communication with opposing counsel in ongoing litigation in abusive and offensive manner

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Shale by gifting him with a complimentary 15-day suspension of his law license.
