Attorney Frank Fazio of Ontario, CAN; ethical troll

The Law Society of Upper Canada presented  Frank Fazio with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from the University of Toronto Law School.

The Hearing Committee for the Law Society found  Frankie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Allowed himself to unwittingly become involved with a client engaged in criminal activity
• Engaged in professional misconduct
• Acted continuing to act in a manner where there was a conflict of interest without disclosing this to clients
• Failed to disclose to a client a financial arrangement between him and an affiliated entity prior to accepting a retainer to provide legal services to the client jointly with non-legal services to the affiliate
• Agreed to take a commission of $60,000.00 from someone other than his client without full disclosure to and the consent of his client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Hearing Committee punished Frankie by gifting him with a complimentary 9-month suspension of his law license and ordered to pay costs of $10,000 to the Law Society.
