Attorney Andrew Mankowski of Monroe, WA; scofflaw, repeat offender

The state of Washington presented Andrew Mankowski with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from the University of Puget Sound Law School.

The Washington State Bar Association found Andy guilty of the following misconduct.

Andy’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
• Failed to provide client with new contact info after leaving the law firm
• Failed to take reasonable steps to expedite litigation
• Misplaced documents from a client file
• Failed to reschedule hearing upon client request
• Failed to file paperwork on behalf of client
• Failed to serve a protective order on client’s behalf
• Failed to inform client of rescheduled hearing dates
• Failed to attend scheduled hearings on behalf of client
• Failed to submit a response to a court order requesting a written explanation as to why he did not appear at a scheduled hearing
• Failed to respond to a court order
• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Andy!)
• Failed to attend scheduled depositions and independent medical examinations.
• Failed to respond to written discovery requests, telephone calls from defense counsel, and multiple motions to compel discovery, and failure to comply with resulting discovery orders
• Falsely informed clients that papers had been filed and served when they had not
• Failed to perform any work in a case.
• Refused to withdraw from cases after clients had fired him
• Failed to return client files and property upon request of the clients after termination of the representation.
• Failed to refund unused portions of fees
• Failed to render accountings upon client request after termination of the representation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Andy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

• Engaged in the illegal practice of law when not licensed to so act
• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Andy!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Andy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.
