Attorney Richard Turbeville of Little Rock; check bouncer, repeat offender

The state of Arkansas presented Richard N. Turbeville with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Law School.

The Committee on Professional found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Lied to ethics investigators about amount in trust account (Screw you, said Dick!)
  • Wrote several checks on insufficient funds account (rubber)
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Dick’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Because Attorney Misfits in Arkansas are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Dick was never criminally charged with writing bad checks.

As we speak (December 2018), Dick practices at 425 West Capitol Avenue in Little Rock, Arkansas.
