Attorney Bernald Porter of Gilbert, AZ; ethical gremlin

The state of Arizona presented Bernald Porter with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from the University of Arizona Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Bernie guilty of the following misconduct. 

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with client
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Failed to provide client with proper fee agreement
• Failed to expedite client litigation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to properly terminate representation
• Failed to provide court with requested client medical records
• Failed to provide new counsel with client’s file after termination
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Collected money from client to pay court reporter fees but failed to the fees
• Retained fees for himself that client paid to reimburse court reported
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Bernie!)

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Bernie’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. She previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Bernie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. May 2018), Bernie practices with the Porter Law Center Chartered at 1480 E Pecos Road in Gilbert, Arizona.
