Attorney Russell Yates of Golden, CO; scamming repeat offender

The state of Colorado provided Russell Edward Yates with a law license in 1971 after he graduated from Colorado State University Law School.

The Colorado State Bar found Russ guilty of the following misconduct.

• Improperly borrowed $50,000 from a client who owed his law firm approximately $100,000 in hourly fees and costs
• Secured the personal load with law firm fees and without authorization from the law firm
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Russ’ First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary censure for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Russ by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. May 2018), Russ practices with the Yates Law Firm LLC at 1819 Denver West Drive in Golden, Colorado.
