Barrister Diane Low of New Zealand; ethical goblin

The New Zealand Law Society presented Diane Faye Low with a law license in 2006 after she graduated from the University of Auckland Law School.

The New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found Diane guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to reconcile her trust account
• Failed to countersign monthly certificates as to accuracy
• Failed to undertake a Trust Account Supervisor Refresher Course
• Failed to complete monthly reconciliations
• Failed to maintain proper records
• Had overdrawn trust account ledgers for 74 clients
• Failed to report to clients on 64 dormant balances
• Advised clients that she had professional indemnity insurance without specifying that it did not meet minimum standards set by the New Zealand Law Society

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Tribunal punished Diane by gifting her with a complimentary censure, fined 8,000 and ordered to pay costs of $12,856.

As we speak (ca. May 2018), Diane practices with Go Legal at 2 Tamariki Avenue in Orewa, New Zealand.
