Donald “Trumporleone” Trump fails to take credit for rising trade deficit
As everyone knows, Donald “Trumporleone” Trump cheerfully takes credit for anything that he perceives is good news and that includes things he had absolutely nothing to do with. However, when it comes to taking credit for things that go bad, The Great Leader prefers to invoke his 5th Amendment right to Remain Silent.
In this instance, The U.S. Commerce Departments reported in early April 2018 that the trade gap rose to $57.6 billion for the month of February 2018. This increase was the highest level since October 2008.
The deficit has now risen for six straight months. The goods trade deficit was the highest since July 2008 and the surplus on services was the lowest since December 2012.
In simple terms, The Great Leader is overseeing a monthly increase in the trade gap that surpasses anything that took place during the presidency of Obama.
If The Great Leader does decide to comment on this matter, he’ll likely state that the Commerce Department reports during Obama’s presidency were all “fake news” and/or blame the reports on the “deep state” that fabricated Obama’s numbers to make him look bad.
