Attorney Joseph Nolan of Powell, TN; serial offender

 

The state of Tennessee presented Joseph Brent Nolan with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of Tennessee Law School.

 

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Joey guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Joey’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conflict of interest
  • Failed to communicate with clients
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Failed to decline/terminate representation when required to do so
  • Failed to safeguard client funds and property
  • Improperly borrowed funds from his client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

 

Joey’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Failed to communicate with clients
  • Failed to properly supervise office staff
  • Failed to provide client with copy of settlement statement

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

 

Joey’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in illegal practice of law while license suspended
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Failed to comply with final court order

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. June 2018), Joey practices at 347 Hickory Stone Lane in Powell, Tennessee.
