Attorney John Shelton of Nashville; slacker, deceiver

The state of Tennessee presented John Nichols Shelton with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the University of Memphis Law School.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to act with candor (deceitful) towards tribunal
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to obtain prior client approval prior to filing pleadings
  • Failed to diligently pursue client interests

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. June 2018), Johnny practices at 220 Athens Way in Nashville, Tennessee.
