Judge Yvonne Williams of DC; ethical troll

The District of Columbia provided Yvonne Williams with a law license in 1997 after she graduated from Northeastern University Law School.

Former president Obama was duped into appointing Yvonne as a DC Superior Court Judge in February 2011. Yvonne didn’t receive the appointment because she was the most qualified attorney in the DC area. She received it because she had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The D.C. Commission on the Judicial Disabilities and Tenure found Yvonne guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with integrity
• Failed to allow every person who has a legal interest in a judicial proceeding and/or that person’s lawyer the right to be heard according to law (due process)
• Improperly reduced the sentences of at least two criminal defendants without any advance notice to the prosecutor and/or defense counsel
• Held sentencing reduction out of the presence of the relevant parties
• Eroded public’s confidence in the judiciary

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Disabilities Commission punished Yvonne by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2018), Yvonne continues to sit as a District of Columbia Superior Court judge in Washington, DC.
