Judge Lawrence Barrett of Omaha, NE; ethical troll

The state of Nebraska presented Lawrence E. Barrett with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Creighton University Law School.

The Nebraska Commission on Judicial Qualifications found Larry guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Knew defendant was too incapacitated to enter a plea of guilty
  • Failed to make further inquiries of defendant that would have clearly proven that he was not competent to enter a plea of guilty
  • Failed to comply with the law
  • Failed to provide party constitutional right to be heard (due process)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nebraska Commission on Judicial Qualifications punished Larry by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Apparently, Larry the Dumbo believes “due process” is how the grass becomes moist in the a.m. in the greater Omaha area.

As we speak (ca. February 2018), Larry continues to sit as a Douglas County Fourth Judicial District Judge in Omaha, Nebraska.
