Attorney Elizabeth Cohen of New York City; lying slacker

The state of New York presented Elizabeth Cohen with a law license in 1991 after she graduated from Emory University Law School.

The 1^st Department Disciplinary Board found Liz guilty of the following misconduct.

• Backdated document she submitted to government agencies re: immigration matter
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
• Lied that she did not backdate documents despite clear evidence to the contrary
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Neglected matter entrusted to her

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Department Disciplinary Board punished Liz by gifting her with a complimentary 2-year suspension of her law license.
