Judge Jill Wallace of Houston; Dumbo, scofflaw

The Supreme Court of Texas presented Jill Wallace with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from the University of Houston Law School.

The State Commission on Judicial Conduct found Jill guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to comply with the law (scofflaw)
• Failed to engage in conduct aimed at promoting integrity of judiciary
• Failed to act impartially when dealing with defendants
• Failed to maintain professional competence in the law (Dumbo)
• Failed to follow Texas law while setting bonds for numerous defendants
• Failed to strictly follow directives not to issue personal bonds to defendants per instructions of the judges in whose court the underlying cases were assigned
• Engaged in willful violations of the Code of Conduct
• Violated her constitutional duties to comply with the law
• Failed to comply with statutory obligation to consider all legally available bonds, including personal recognizance bonds

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Jill by gifting her with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. March 2018), Jill continues to sit as a Criminal Law Hearing Judge in Houston, Texas.
