The state of Colorado provided Billie G. Burchfield with a law license in 1990 after she graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Law School.

The Colorado Disciplinary Counsel found Billie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to provide client with promissory note for on several loans obtained from client
• Failed to give client any written conflict disclosures re: loans from client
• Failed to obtain written consent from client re: client loans

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Billie by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 90-day suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court didn’t really mete out any meaningful punishment to Billie.
