Attorney Arthur Ermlich Jr. of Virginia Beach; ethical ogre

The state of Virginia presented Arthur Charles Ermlich Jr. with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from the University of Richmond Law School.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary found Art guilty of the following misconduct.

• Violated numerous trust account rules
• Withheld over $16,000 from client’s personal injury settlement for three years
• Failed to pay client’s healthcare providers despite promise to do so
• Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
• Failed to advise client of his delay in paying over funds to care providers
• Failed to respond to client information requests

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Virginia Bar Disciplinary Board punished Art by gifting him with a complimentary three-year suspension of his law license.
