Attorney William Lockett Jr. of Knoxville, TN; thieving felon

The state of Tennessee unfortunately presented William Soaper Lockett Jr. with a law license in 1983 after she graduated from the Cumberland Law School.

The Board of Professional Responsibility found Billy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Pled guilty to theft of more than $10,000, a felony
  • Received payment of fees from client but failed to remit to his firm
  • Requested and received loans from firm’s clients
  • Pled guilty to willful failure to file federal income tax return
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct or knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished by gifting him with a complimentary 4-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2018), Billy practices at 7610 Saddlebrooke Drive in Knoxville, Tennessee.
