Judge Burton Glover of Springfield, TN; scofflaw, liar, moron  
Burton Glover was presented with a law license by the Tennessee Supreme Court in 1988. In 1990, Glover succeeded in duping the voters in Robertson County into electing him as a General Sessions Judge.
As it relates to complying with Tennessee law on campaign finances, Judge Glover believed he was above the law. Tennessee law prohibits judicial candidates from accepting any campaign contributions from corporations. Despite this prohibition, Judge Glover unlawfully accepted corporate contributions on several occasions, including at least one in an amount exceeding $1,000.
In addition to repeatedly violating campaign laws in an effort to dupe the voters into reelecting him, Glover also found it acceptable to knowingly lie that he had reduced juvenile crime by 25% during his time on the bench. Glover also knowingly lied about his opponent Judge Max Pagan by saying he was habitually absent from court.
Subsequently, the Tennessee Court of the Judiciary filed ethics charges against Judge Glover that resulted in it finding him guilty of lying and violating campaign election laws.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers and apologists sitting on the Court of the Judiciary punished Judge Glover by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. Sept 2011) Glover continues to sit on the bench Springfield, which is about 36 miles west of Knoxville.
Isn’t it comforting to know that there’s a serial scofflaw and liar sitting in judgment of the good folks in Robertson County, Tennessee? Kinda tugs at your heart if ya know what I mean!
