Judge Beatrice Butchko of Miami, FL; arrogant, lifetime porker

The state of California presented Beatrice Butchko with a law license in 1989 after she graduated from DePaul University School of Law.

Former Gov. Jeb Bush was duped into appointing Beatrice to a seat on the 11^th Judicial Circuit Court in Miami in 2005. Beatrice didn’t get the appointment because she was the most qualified lawyer in the greater Miami area. She got it because she had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

It should be noted that Beatrice has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for nearly 20 years after she graduated from Law School in 1989. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Miami area was about offer Beatrice a good paying job.

In one matter, Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal is considering a bid to remove Beatrice from a case due to her being Facebook friends with a lawyer who entered an appearance for a nonparty in her court.

The Herssein Law Group argues that Beatrice should be removed from the case because of her Facebook friendship with attorney Israel Reyes, a former judicial colleague because the friendship could or would likely influence Beatrice.

It appears that Beatrice has refused to remove herself from the case despite Florida’s Judicial Conduct Code that says judge should not befriend lawyers who may appear before them.  A Calfiornia Court of Appeal ruled in 2012 that a judge who was a Facebook friend with a prosecutor should be disqualified from a criminal case.

As we speak (ca. September 2017), Beatrice continues to sit as a 11th Judicial Circuit Court Judge in Miami, Florida.
