Attorney Billy Wong of Toronto, CAN; cheating repeater

 

The Law Society of Upper Canada presented Billy Wong with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School.

 

A Disciplinary Hearing Panel found Billy guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Billy’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in professional misconduct
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Failed to advise client he had interest in investment/loan corporation
  • Amended agreement between himself and two other parties to transfer $100,000of $200,000 shareholder loan to himself, without the knowledge or authorization of shareholder
  • Took funds for fees from trust w/o first rendering an accounting
  • Misappropriated (stole) trust funds on at least 3 occasions
  • Charges fees that were not fair and reasonable (cheater)
  • Failed to detail amounts charged for fees and disbursements
  • Failed to deposit client’s $94,000 into cleint trust account
  • Commissioned (attested) document that wasn’t signed in his presence
  • Transferred funds from trust to general account w/o first issuing fee billing

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee of the Law Society punished
Billy by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his law license.

  • Failed to ensure client interests protected
  • Failed to provide accounting to client
  • Failed to deposit client funds into trust account
  • Commissioned (attested) document that wasn’t signed in his presence

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee of the Law Society punished
Billy by gifting him with a complimentary 2-month suspension of his law license.
