Attorney John Chambers of North Merrick, NY; charged with bribery

The state of New York presented John Chambers with a law license in 1958 after he graduated from New York City University Law School.

In one matter, Johnny was arrested (ca. April 2017) for being involved in a scam wherein police employees traded speeding handling of gun permits for paid vacations, jewelry, catered parties, cash and visits to strip clubs.

Johnny, who was once employed as a Brooklyn assistant DA, is charged with bribery and conspiracy. The criminal complaint states that Johnny marketed himself to potential clients as the “Top Firearms Licensing Attorney in NY. He went to advertise that he specialized in interview, appeal, hearing, renewal, incident, or any other issue that might arise regarding gun licensing.

The criminal complaint states that Johnny gave NYPD License Division officers tickets to to Broadway shows and sporting events; sports memorabilia; an $8,000 watch; and cash hidden in magazines.

All that remains now is to see how long it takes before Johnny cops a plea to lessen the time he will have to spend in prison. Hopefully, the sentencing judge will order that Johnny be incarcerated at Sing Sing and assigned to Cell No. 166 where he’ll be roomed up with Clarice (real name Clarence) who is rumored to be an especially friendly guy.

As we speak (September 2017), Johnny practices at 2288 Howes Street in North Merrick, New York.
