Judge John Lyman of Olympia, WA; certified lush, scofflaw
John Lyman was presented with a law license by the Washington Supreme Court in September 1970.
Over the past several years, Lyman has been sitting as a Municipal Court Judge in Tumwater and Tenino.
In Sept 2010, Johnnie the Lush was criminally charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and leaving the scene of an accident.
According to the State Police, Johnnie was arrested at his home in after crashing into a parked car in the Tumwater Valley Golf Club [How appropriate!] restaurant parking lot. The Lush then crashed into another vehicle that was stopped at a stoplight on Yelm Highway. Johnnie the Scofflaw fled both scenes by driving away.
At the time of his, Johnnie’s blood-alcohol level was 0.140, which was 0.002 above the legal limit for Judicial Drunks.
Johnnie was granted deferred prosecution for two gross misdemeanors – driving under the influence and hit-and-run. The criminal charges will be dismissed if Johnnie the Lush completes two years of intensive outpatient alcohol treatment.
Johnnie was given the option of attending a treatment facility of his own choice. He then chose to attend the prestigious Igor Stolichnaya Institute for Judicial Drunks in Seattle.
As a consequence of his criminal misconduct, the enablers sitting on the Judicial Commission and the Washington Supreme Court As we speak (July 2011) John the Lush continues to sit on the bench (when sober) in Tumwater and Tenino Municipal Court s.
