Trump’s 23^rd post-election lie: he was friends with Pavarotti

To retain his League Leading Liars Average (LLLA), Donald “Trumporleone” Trump decided to give the Italians and opera lovers a taste of his unique ability to lie about even the most insignificant thing. During a recent (April 2017) media appearance with Sergio Mattarella, President of Italy, The Don spewed forth the following lies regarding his non-exitant friendship with Pavarotti:

• “Through the ages, your country has been a beacon of artistic and scientific achievement — and that continues today — from Venice to Florence, from Verdi to Pavarotti, a friend of mine. Great friend of mine.”
• “These bonds of history and culture have only grown stronger as our two nations have become close partners, dear friends, and very vital allies.”

The Don’s lie was exposed when Pavarotti’s family said there never was any friendship. In fact, in a statement to the Independent, the family said:

• “As members of his immediate family, we would like to recall that the values of brotherhood and solidarity which Luciano Pavarotti expressed throughout the course of his artistic career are entirely incompatible with the world view offered by the candidate Donald Trump.”

If The Don really cared about telling the truth about prior friendships and/or business relationships, then he’d admit that in the past he was friendly with the following well-respected entrepreneurs in the real estate and construction business in the greater New York City area.

• Vincent “The Chin” Gigante
• Joseph “Joe Bananas” Bonanno
• Carmine “The Snake” Persico
• Frank “The Prime Minister” Costello

• Anthony "Tony Ducks" Corallo

I’m certain that none of the above-named luminaries will claim that The Don lied if he were to state that all of them were his friends.
