Attorney James Cooney of Pittsburgh; serial drunk

The state of Pennsylvania presented James R. Cooney with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Duquesne University Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

During one year, Jimmy was charged with five (5) counts of driving under the influence (DUI) or a controlled substance. Subsequently, Jimmy coped a plea and pled guilty one count of the criminal indictment with the balance of the charges being withdrawn by a compliant prosecutor.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Jimmy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received an a complimentary 2-year suspension for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2013) Jimmy practices at 960 Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
