Attorney Joseph Breshears of Fort Worth; ethical gremlin

The state of Texas presented Joseph W. Breshears with a law license in 1983 after he graduated Baylor University of Texas Law School.

The District 7-A Greivance Committee found Joey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Failed to return client calls
  • Relocated office without notifying client
  • Failed to withdraw representation after being terminated
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Joey!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 3-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Joey.

As we speak (ca. August 2017), Joey practices at 4055 International Plaza in Fort Worth, Texas.
