Solicitor Denis O’Brien of Australia; liar, repeat offender

The Victoria Law Society presented Denis O’Brien with a law license in 1990.

The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal found Denny guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in unsatisfactory professional conduct
  • Prepared and signed seven withdrawals while acting for vendor without vendor’s authority
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Acted recklessly to the fact he did not have authority to execute withdrawals
  • Submitted document to Registrar of Titles which he knew contained false statement

As one would suspect, this isn’t Denis’ First bite at the Solicitor Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received two cautions for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Administrative Council punished Denis by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand plus a $45,000 fine.

As we speak (ca. May 2017), Denis practices at 64 McLachlan Street in Horsham, Victoria, Australia.
