Today’s Public Official Misfit is: Youngstown Treasurer Lisa Antonini

Congratulations to….
Lisa A. Antonini of Youngstown
Today’s “Public Official Misfit Award Winner
It should be noted that Lisa Antonini has dedicated her adult life to porking out at the public trough. Apparently, the local Wal-Mart refused to accept her application as a greeter.
Prior to duping the voters in Mahoning County, Ohio (Youngstown area) to elect her as the Country Treasurer, Lisa had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough.
On May 15, 2011, the Feds filed a criminal complaint against Lisa, charging with one count of honest services mail fraud.
The Feds allege that Lisa, while serving as Mahoning County treasurer and chairwoman of the Mahoning County Democratic Party, accepted $3,000 in cash from a Youngstown area businessman, and, in exchange, she supported his business interests and would take official action on his behalf when opportunities arose. How cool is that Boyz and Girls?
Immediately after she was exposed as a crook by the Feds, Lisa announced that she was resigning her $68,275-a-year job as County treasurer.
In a lame attempt at levity, Lisa had the chutzpah to state in her resignation letter: “I am ashamed and embarrassed by my actions. I deeply regret having been caught, I’m sorry I mean having disappointed the people of our community who placed their trust and confidence in me.” Clearly, Lisa missed her calling as a standup comedian, right?
David Betras, current Democratic Party chair said the Party will begin the process of appointing someone to serve the remainder of Lisa’s unexpired term as Chairwoman of the Party.
Hey Dave, I hear tell that ex-Congressman James Traficant is looking for a job! And if Jimmy turns ya down, maybe Viv Viccarone of Cleveland might be interested.
Congrats Lisa; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as a corrupt public official; you are far too humble.
