Attorney John Joplin of Ft. Smith, AR; slacker, moron

The state of Arkansas presented John E. Joplin with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School.

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to promptly respond to client information requests
  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Knowingly made false statement of material fact to a tribunal
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (February 2017), Johnny practices at 40 South 4th Street in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
