Attorney J. Stephen Hurst of La Follette, TN; bully

The state of Tennessee provided J. Stephen Hurst with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the University of Tennessee Law School.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Stevie represented parents from whose custody DCS had removed their children.  Before court was convened, Stevie the was sitting on the front row of the courtroom when the Stevie walked by, stepped on the complainant’s toe, pointed his finger in the complainant’s face, and said something to the effect of, “I’ve got your number.”

When the complainant stood up, the Stevie assaulted the Complainant by bumping and pushing him with his stomach and spitting in the complainant’s face.  Bailiffs escorted Stevie out of the courtroom, and, as he was leaving, Stevie called the complainant a foul name.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Because Attorney Misfits in Tennessee are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Stevie was never criminally charged with assault.

As we speak (ca. January 2017) Stevie practices at 210 West Central Avenue in La Follette, Tennessee.
