The state of Tennessee provided Matthew Ian John with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from the University of Memphis Law School.

 

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility Matty guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct or knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Improperly signed another lawyer’s name in his firm as a witness to a power of attorney

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license
