Trump’s 6th post-election lie: 96 million want jobs and can’t get one

During Donald “Trumporleone” Trump’s first post-election press conference, he decided to further prove he’s America’s Premiere Liar.

Towards that end, The Don said:

  • There are “96 million really wanting a job and they can’t get one.”

The true facts, something The Don absolutely deplores are:

There are about 96 million people not in the labor force, however, that includes retirees, students and others who don’t want jobs or are too young to be lawfully employed.

The U.S. Census reports the following statistics as of July 2015

  • 323 million – 2016 total population
  • 20 million Persons under 5 years of age
  • 73 million Persons under 18 years of age
  • 48 million Persons 65 years of age and over

Obviously, The Don’s statement that there’s “96 million really wanting a job” is patently false.

To be fair to The Don it may well be that he’ll order that the new Secretary of Labor Andrew Puzder abolish The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) that prohibits the hiring of children younger than 14-years-of-age.
