Judge Mark Hammitte of Hamilton, AL; toady for Chief Justice Roy Moore
The state of Alabama presented Mark Hammitte with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the Birmingham Law School.
After former Chief Justice Ray Moore was removed from office for instructing Alabama judges to ignore a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on same sex marriage, Mark decided to don a pair of Industrial Strength Knee Pads for the purpose of genuflecting in Ray Moore’s honor while decrying his removal from office.
Mark signed onto a brief in support of Roy Moore that was filed with a special Alabama Supreme Court that will hear Moore’s specious appeal.
Mark contends that the Alabama Court of the Judiciary circumvented a rule that required a unanimous vote to remove a judge from office and instead suspended Roy Moore for the balance of his term.
In his laughable brief, Mark said in part:
So here we have a Moore apologist claiming the removal of Moore was due to his religious viewpoint and basically a violation of the law.
However, Mark apparently has no problem with Moore thumbing his nose at a Federal judges’ order that he remove a Ten Commandments monument from the courthouse. The same is true of Moore’s thumbing of his nose at the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling regarding same sex marriage.
Hopefully, Roy Moore reimbursed Mark for the costs he incurred in purchasing a pair of Industrial Strength Knee Pads to pay homage to the Right Reverend Roy Moore.
As we speak (ca. December 2016), T. Lee continues to sit as District Court judge in Hamilton, Alabama. |
