Michael Chapman of Scotland; ethical gremlin

The Law Society presented Michael Chapman with a law license in 1983.

The Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in unsatisfactory professional conduct
  • Issued checks on insufficient funds account (rubber)
  • Failed to pay mandatory annual professional fees
  • Failed to pay employee’s expenses despite repeated requests
  • Failed to pay required witness fees
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Mike!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Discipline Tribunal punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Because Solicitor Misfits in Scotland are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Mike was never criminally charged with writing bad checks.

As we speak (ca. December 2016), Mike practices at 19 Caulfield Terrace, Inverness, Edinburgh, Scotland.
