Magistrate Judge Clarence Meldrum Jr. of Council Bluffs, IA; ethical elf

The state of Iowa presented Clarence B. Meldrum Jr. with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.

The Judicial Qualifications Commission found Clarence guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was acting in his capacity as a private attorney.

In one matter, Clarence cheerfully and knowingly violated the Code of Judicial Conduct when he published an advertisement for his services as a private attorney in which he wore his judicial robes and referred to his position as a magistrate judge.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Clarence by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2016), Clarence continues to sit as a Judicial Magistrate Judge in Council Bluffs. In addition, Clarence practices law with the Meldrum Law Office at 500 Willow Avenue in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
