Attorney Brett Buchheit of Littleton, CO; ethical leprechaun

The state of Colorado provided Brett Anthony Buchheit with a law license in 2008.

The Colorado State Bar found Brett guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to satisfy lien for medical services provided to his client
  • Failed to keep separate funds wherein two or more persons claimed interest in same until there was an accounting and severance of those interests
  • Improperly solicited client from prior law firm
  • Failed to confirm limits of client’s auto insurance policy despite client’s repeated requests that he do so
  • Failed to explain matter to allow client to make informed decision re: representation
  • Improperly disbursed funds involving a fee arbitration matter
  • Knowingly disobeyed an obligation under rules of a tribunal
  • Threatened to sue person who filed ethics complaint
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Brett by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Brett.

As we speak (ca. November 2015) Brett practices with Rocky Mountain Personal Injury Lawyers LLC at 1150 West Littleton Blvd in Littleton, Colorado.
