Attorney James Chess of Crystal Lake, IL; ethical leprechaun

The state of Illinois presented James Michael Chess with a law license in 1987.

The Disciplinary Commission found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Neglected several client matters
  • Used client confidence without client’s consent
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  • Established account with phone company by using name and social security number of a client without the consent of his client Martin Magers
  • Magers’ home phone service disconnected on two occasions due to Jimmy’s conduct
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Allowed client’s personal injury claim to lapse due to tolling of statute of limitation
  • Failed to inform client that he had moved

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (November 2016), Jimmy practices at 501 Coventry Lane in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

CAUTION: Jimmy does not carry legal malpractice insurance
